Vadodara SOG busted a racket of LPG gas theft and arrested 16 accused from a godown of Radhika Gas service situated at Gotri Khodiyarnagar.
The accused involved in refilling the gas from the packed cylinders to the empty one. Police recovered a total of 33,92,042 worth of equipments and items from there.
The SOG team received a tip about employees of the Radhika Gas Agency godown at Khodiyarnagar involved in theft and refiling of gas from the packed cylinders to the empty one and deliver the same to the customers. They open the sealed one and transfer the gas to the empty ones with the help of pipe and then supplies them.
Based on the information the team raided the godown and arrested 16 persons from there involved in refilling the gas in empty cylinders. During the raid the team recovered 600 cylinders of 14kg each filled with subsidised LPG worth 4,23,900rs, 64 commercial gas cylinders of 19kg each worth 81,472rs, 537 empty cylinders of 14, 19 and 5kg worth 6,49,050rs, 1lakh37,150 cash, three wheel tempo, pickup jeep, refilling items like pipes (13), caps, plastic seals and other things from the spot.
Moreover the SOG team checked the seized cylinders on the spot and found 1 to 5kgs of gas low from the original weight. The employees of the agency then deliver the low weight cylinders to the customers and distribute the excess amount they received through black marketing. They also use their techniques to assure and cheat the customers while measuring the cylinders on weight scale during the delivery and running the racket successfully till caught by the SOG team.
Police arrested Inayat Malek, Dashrath Chauhan, Satish Chauhan, Harshad Parmar, Dilip Chauhan, Vishnu Chauhan, Suryaprakash Jawar, Surendra Khichi, Kadar Arab, Madan Godara, Subhagram Manju, Kasim Arab, Subhash Khichad, Mangilal Khichad, Akram Arab and Poonam Khawa from the spot and booked them along with the agency owner, manager under IPC 285, 379, 406, 420, 114, 120(B) and essential commodities act section 3 and 7. A offence was registered inside Gotri police station and further investigation is on in the matter.
