Involved in many cases of chain snatching incidents in the city

Vadodara police anti chain snatching squad
caught two notorious chain snatchers after a chase on Tuesday. Both of them
involved in many cases of chain snatching incidents in the city. Police recover
gold chains and Mangalsutras worth around 3 lakhs from them. 



The anti chain snatching teams of crime branch are working on
undetected chain snatching incidents happened in the city. Meanwhile the team
face off with two suspicious youths on a Pulsar bike near Chhani Octroi post.
The youths fled from the spot after saw the police. The team followed and
caught them near Nandesari bridge after a chase. During interrogation the team
found gold chains and Mangalsutras from their possession and further
investigate.



First accused Mahesh Dhakad 48 originally from MP and works
as land broker and presently lives in Kheda. He was earlier arrested in 36
cases of chain snatching and five cases vehicle lifting cases in Bharuch,
Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Surat. He was sent to PASA for three times and involved
in land related crimes since 1994.



The second accused Salimpiya Malek 44 also from Kheda caught
in five Angadia loots and seven chain snatching incidents in the past. He was
also sent to PASA once for the offences. The police also came to know about his
involvement in the murder of a person when he tried to stop him for snatching a
purse of a woman in Surat.



Both the accused are involved in 20 cases of chain snatching
incidents in the city. Further investigation is on in the matter.
