Vadodara NSUI locked DEO office in view of their demand for fee waiver in schools

Vadodara NSUI locked the office of District Education Officer in view of their demand to waive the first semester fees of schools in the global Corona pandemic. The NSUI took the aggressive stance after the administration not take any decision of their many representations about the fee waiver.

With a demand of first session fee waiver, NSUI activists led by President Vraj Patel reached the DEO office and shouted slogans against the state education minister. They then sit near the car of District Education Officer U.N. Rathod and raised slogans for fees waiver. Later they locked the main gate of the education office.

NSUI President Vraj Patel said, many parents have lost their jobs and business were badly hit due to the global corona pandemic. In such situation the parents are not in a position to pay fees, but schools are charging fees from them.

The state government only made announcements but schools are not implementing it and inspite of the holidays the schools are charging fees from parents. Those who don’t want to pay fees, they are pressurised by the school management.

Earlier NSUI made written and oral representations to the District Education Officer for waiver of first session fees in schools, but no decision has been taken by the administration. As a result on Wednesday they are forced to lock the office of the District Education Officer.

Once again they give the memorandum about waiver of fees to the DEO and request for a decision soon. However they also threaten to intensify their agitation if right decision is not taken even after today’s program.
