Traders promise to follow Covid 19 guidelines

The famous Khanderao vegetable market will be buzzing from 11 June 2020 after closed for last 76 days due to Coronavirus epidemic. The decision was taken on Wednesday after a presentation by the trade association to the Municipal commissioner and the Mayor.

It is to be noted that this market located on Rajmahal Road is a wholesale market where small and big traders as well as citizens comes to buy cheap vegetables and fruits.

The Karwa Kachhiya Patel Samaj had demanded before the state government aboit starting the vegetable market as due to closure for 76 days, the vegetable traders of had no option to make a living.

They also threaten for violating the the civil code if the issue is not resolved within two days. Meanwhile after they approached Municipal Commissioner Nalin Upadhyay and Mayor Dr. Jigishaben Sheth, the market was allowed to start from June 11. However, traders were promised to follow the guideline of Covid 19.

It is to be noted that there is a huge rush in the market starting from early morning and therefore not possible to follow the rules of Coronavirus.

Nitin Patel, former BJP councilor and leader of the Kachiya Patel Samaj said, during the Gaekwad rule, the Khanderao vegetable market was gifted to Kachiya Samaj. The community strictly follows the Covid-19 rules and will continue in the days to come.

Most of the markets have been opened in Unlock-1, But the Khanderao vegetable market was not allowed to start. But after the presentation, the market has been allowed to start from June 11and all rules relating to Corona will be followed by traders.

In Khanderao vegetable market, 850 traders, including 450 on paper, make a living by trading everyday. But due to lockdown the condition of the traders became worse in absence of no business. Now happiness comes back on their faces as the market is allowed to start by the administration.
