Following the order of Supreme Court, Jagannath rathyatra in Vadodara possibly not take place this year following the order of Supreme Court. This will be the 39th Rath Yatra this year. Earlier Supreme Court states the annual Rathayatra and associated activities at the Jagannath Temple in Puri in the wake of coronavirus pademic.

Nityanand Swami of ISKCON temple in ​​Vadodara said, for the last 38 years the temple has been organised grand rathyatra of Lord Jagannath, Balram and Devi Subhadra. Due to outbreak of corona virus, Supreme Court stayed the rathyatra at Puri and then how it can be possible in Vadodara.

The ISKCON temple completes all the preparations like every year for the 39th Rathyatra of Lord Jagannath on the day of Ashadhi Bij on 23rd June 2020. But with the Supreme Court order for the first time in the history of Vadodara the rathyatra possibly will not take place this year.

The decision dampen the spirits of devotees who are waiting for the whole year to catch a glimpse of Lord Jagannath comes out with brother Balbhadra and sister Subhadra to give darshan. But due to the spike in Covid 19 cases the decision is taken for the benefit of people and contain the virus.
