The Baroda Grains Merchants Association has decided to closed the Hathikhana Market to the general public till May 31 2020. The decision was taken after the market gets crowded due to large number of people gathering inside.

Time limited concessions offered by the government during Lockdown 4.0, gives a much needed relief for the people. The odd even formula also gives the shopkeepers and traders to start their business after a two months shutdown. However the gathering at some places leads to violation of social distancing rules. In view of that the Hathikhana market will be closed for general public till 31st May 2020.

According to a press release released by The Baroda Grains Merchants Association of Hathikhana Market, the decision is taken in view of the large number of people gathered inside to buy items to fill in season.

Taking this into consideration, during 25th to 31st May, only the provision stores owners having copy of Gumastadhara or copy of food safety license will be allowed to enter the Hathikhana market. Items to be filled in season by the public will be delivered at their home by taking orders on phone by the traders.

The market will be open for provision stores and organisations from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m starting from 25th to 31st May 2020. From May 25 to May 31, Hathikhana Market will be open only from Provision Stores or Institutions from 8 am to 2 pm. During these days, unloading will done after 2 pm as per the government rule and at present the market will be open only till 4 pm as per government norms.
