Will have facility of fast and slow charging options

Vadodara get it's first electric vehicle charging point inside petrol pump to recharge the cars and two wheelers at one place. This is the first point inside a petrol pump in Gujarat and will be operational 24 hours for the customers.

The electric vehicle charging station at HPCL Karelibaug will have the facility both fast and slow chargers based on the customers need. The fast charger can charge the vehicle in 80 to 90 minutes and slow charger will take five to six hours to charge the vehicles.

As per details given by Pankaj Vaswani senior manager HPCL, this will be the first electric vehicle charging point inside petrol pump in Gujarat having charging options for four and two wheeler vehicles. Further they has plan to open one more in Vadodara and three more in Surat. One electric point is already operational in Surat run by the company.

He added that as per data given by RTO, Vadodara has 185 electric vehicles at present and this point will help them charge their vehicles. At one charge the vehicle can go 100kms depending on the driving conditions. The company is charging only the electricity cost from the people which is around 200rupees per vehicle charge.

The charging machines are purchased from NTPC and they point will help charging around 20 vehicles per day. The 1st electric vehicle charging station is inagurated in presence of Director-Marketing, Rakesh Misri, Executive director- Marketing, S K Suri and other dignitaries.
