Vadodara crime branch arrested two persons of the gang involved in theft of jewellery

To detect the several cases of chain snatching, cleverly siphoning of jewellery from the ladies and theft of jewellery and cash from auto rickshaw passengers the Vadodara crime branch made several teams and started their investigation.

During such search the team of PSI D.J. Chudasama and his team intercepted a auto rickshaw no. GJ-6-YY-5151 on suspicion at Mira cross roads at Harni Road and arrested two persons including the driver.

The police asked for papers from driver Arif Sheikh from Varsada village Mehmadabad Kheda and the other one sitting at the passenger seat Aqeel Sheikh from Mehmadabad Kheda but they didn't produce and police questioning them strictly and they spill the details about their modus operandi.

The duo said that with the help of their other associates Jafar Mansuri and Suresh Tambi both from Mehmadabad, they came to Baroda along with the auto rickshaw and search the alone lady and male passengers and make them sit in the middle on the passenger seat and cleverly siphoning off the chains, jewellery and cash from their purse.

During investigation the duo revealed that they committed the crime in six different areas of the city where they cleverly took out the jewellery and cash from the passengers and later make them get down from the rickshaw after making some excuse.

The police found that different cases were registered in city, Gotri and Makarpura police stations and right now the accused are with city police custody. The police is further investigating about the gang and accused involving anywhere else in crime and also the search is on to recover the jewellery and cash of the passengers which the accused siphoned from them.
