Vadodara crime branch on Tuesday evening arrested one Vaikunth Pawar alias Dabang with 31 lakhs rupees all in the denomination of 500 currency notes which was banned by the government. The arrested Vaikunth Pawar is said to be the brother of BJP councilor Vijay Pawar.

On Tuesday on prior information about a person named Vaikunth Pawar alias Dabang was roaming with the ban currency in the Ayurvedic area of Vadodara city in a white car Hyundai I 20 no. GJ 6 HD 8820 in the evening. The Crime branch team kept a watch and recieved information about the person passing through the lane near Panigate Ward 9 office on the way to his home.

The police immediately kept watch near the lane and after spotted the car intercepted it and arrested Vaikunth alias Dabang Vitthalrao Pawar resident of 102 Upas flat Anand park Society, Ayurvedic teen rasta in Vadodara city. During investigation the police found a red bag filled with ban 500 rupee currency in 62 bundles total of 31 lakhs.

Police starting interrogation about the big amount of money from the accused but he failed to give any satisfactory answer and the police team seized the currency and car along with the accused.

The accused Vaikunth Pawar was earlier arrested in Panigate police station for fighting, woman torture and prohibition like offences. Crime branch is further investigating about from where, how and why Vaikunth get the cash.
