Vadodara crime branch arrested eight more accused in the Hathikhana rioting matter taking the total number of arresting people to 16. The team also recovered swords and other weapons from two of the accused and also booked persons giving shelter to the accused as they hide in Tandalja area.
On Friday crowd of 80 to 90 people involved in stone pelting on policemen and damaging government vehicles to protest the CAB in Hathikhana area of the city. The police however control the situation and prevent to spread it to other areas. While investigating the crime branch arrested another eight in the matter which takes the count to 16 in the incident.
DCP crime Jaydip Sinh Jadeja said the investigation in the matter leads them to know that the attack was pre planned and they have enough evidence to prove that. The CCTV angles were changed and covered, faces covered shows the well planned conspiracy to attack policemen.
The crime branch arrested eight in the matter along with weapons during their investigation in the matter. The team arrested Atiq Sheikh and Mohammad Azhar Rafiq Pathan with swords and other deadly weapons along with Tanvir Sheikh, Tahir Sheikh, Sajid Malek, Sajjad Sheikh, Ramzan Solanki and Mushtaq Sheikh in the matter. The last one kept the stones ready to help the attackers before the incident.
DCP Jadeja said the accused took shelter in Tandalja area after the incident and they were arrested from there by the crime branch team. They also booked the persons giving them shelter and help the accused.
