Residents staged protest after corporation decide to give rent to only 100 people per day

Displaced residents of Sanjay Nagar start getting the arrears of rent fixed by the corporation after the demolition drive. However they opposed the decision as only 100 persons per day were paid rent by the corporation. They staged protest at the Raopura Road branch office demanding total payment of rent.

The corporation has started paying arrears to the displaced people of Sanjaynagar who have been agitating for accommodation and payment of arrears for the last one week.

The displaced residents reached the Corporation Raopura road branch office on Saturday to collect rent. However they refused to accept the cheques as Corporation decides to give only two months rent to only 100 persons per day. They demand the payment of total outstanding rent cheque to everyone at same time.

Seemaben Rathore, women president of Sanjaynagar Vikas Samiti said, the displaced people of Warsia Sanjaynagar have been on the path of agitation for the last 3 years and have not received the fixed rent for the last 6-8 months.

They are protesting on the site of Sanjaynagar and now corporation started paying rent to the displaced from Saturday. They reached the Raopura road branch office to collect their cheques.

However they protest against the decision of paying two cheques to only 100 persons per day. The six months rent of the  people are due as per the prescribed Rs. 2000 and now the corporation is cheating the displaced people by giving them two months rent. They protest against the decision and demand total payment of rent to all at one time. They demand for E.C.S. facility for their payment of rent.
