Demand waiver in petrol-diesel prices, school-college fees, electricity bills and property tax

Demonstrations were held in various areas of the city by Vadodara city congress demanding waivers in petrol-diesel prices, school-college fees, electricity bills as well as property tax during Corona virus epidemic. Congress leaders and activists protesting in various areas, including Amit Nagar Circle, were detained by police.

Vadodara city Congress is raising the issues of rising fuel prices, school and college fees, electricity bills and taxes for last many days.

They are demonstrating in many areas and demand waiver of all these things as coronavirus epidemic is taking it’s toll on the livelihood of the people. The party is taking their movement to the masses.

As per the orders of City Congress President Prashant Patel, the city Congress staged demonstrations in various parts of the city with slogans like roll back of Petrol-diesel price hike, waiver of school-college fees, property tax as well as electricity bill.

At Amitnagar Circle, the program was organized by activists of Ward Nos. 2, 3 and 4 led by Congress leader Rutvij Joshi and Councilor Anil Parmar. Police arrested six activists, including Rutvij Joshi and Anil Parmar for violating the notification. The members shouted slogans after police detained them from the spot.

Similarly workers of Ward No. 1, 8 and 9 protest at Gorwa, I.T.I. crossing, Char Rasta, Ward No. 7,13 and 14 workers at Dandia Bazaar crossing, Ward No. 5,6 and 15 workers at Vrindavan Crossing Waghodia Road, Ward No. 10,11 and 12 workers at Havmor Circle, Old Padra demonstrated with banners and slogans. In the evening the workers of Ward Nos. 16, 17, 18 and 19 will demonstrate at Dawat Restaurant, Manjalpur.
