Vadodara Commissionarate CGST team busted a big evasion of GST of 70 crores in a Guthka manufacturing unit situated in Halol GIDC. The department also unearthed illegal manufacturing of prohibited guthka of various brands from there.
As per the release intelligence officers of preventive wing of CGST Vadodara II Commissionarate carried out a midnight search operation of a unit situated at GIDC Phase 3 Halol on 17th January 2019. During search proceedings the department has unearthed illegal manufacturing of prohibited guthka of various brands resulting into huge evasion of GST and other taxes of 70crores.

The release further states about the investigation reveals a wide spread inter state network of manufacturing and supply of Guthka Pan Masala. The supply chain extends to Rajasthan, MP and UP.
The clandestine operations were being done on a Hit and Run basis with continuous shifting of Guthka manufacturing machines. The team seized incriminating goods, documents, vehicles and investigation is under process. The entire operation was headed by Vaibhav Singh Chauhan deputy commissioner Central GST Vadodara II under the supervision of Manisha Saxena Additional Commissioner Central GST Vadodara II.
