In view of the increasing number of Corona cases in Vadodara city, the Mahisagar and the Narmada river near the city have been banned for two days during the upcoming Holi Dhuleti. The district collector issued a notification in this regard on Friday.

It is to be mentioned that on the day of Dhuleti, a large number of people from the surrounding villages including Vadodara city flock to bath in the Narmada river passing through Sindhrot Fajalpur near Vadodara, Lachanpur in Savli taluka of Vadodara district, Divel village in Shinor taluka and Nareshwar in Karjan taluka.

In view of the current situation of Corona, the district collector has banned bathing on the banks of the Mahisagar and Narmada rivers for two days of Holi and Dhuleti.

Corona cases is increasing rapidly day by day in view of the increasing number of corona cases in Gujarat, the government has banned the public celebration of Holi and Dhuleti. An SOP has also been declared by the government.

Following the guidelines issued by the state government, local administration has also issued a two-day ban on bathing places along the river in view of the increasing cases of corona.

After the notification was issued by district collector, the city and district police have planned to set up a tight police cordon at the bathing places of Mahisagar and Narmada banks from the morning of Holi till late night of Dhuleti festival. Strict action will be taken against those who violate the district collector’s declaration.
