tobbaco items worth one lakh from the store

Vadodara
city police is taking strict steps to implement the lockdown and aware people
about staying at home to stop the chain of Coronavirus in the city. However
many of them specially some shopkeepers are violating the rules inspite of the
strict orders.

In one such
violation Vadodara Wadi police caught a provision store owner for selling
tobbaco items in the name of essential commodities. The team conduct raid in
the store and siezed tobbaco, gutkha, cigarettes worth around 1 lakh and
arrested the shopkeeper Jagdish Hariyani for further investigation.

As the
lockdown is in place, district administration is making every efforts to help
people getting the essential commodities at the doorstep. They also identified
provision stores, medical stores to provide their services to people in this
time. However such shopkeepers violate the orders in the name of providing
essential items to people.

The Wadi
police team conduct checking in the Jay Ambe Provision Store in Bakrawadi area
and found the shopkeeper violates the lockdown rules and selling tobbaco items
in the name of provision store. They seized items worth 1 lakh consists of
Cigarettes, Gutkha, Pan Masala and others. He is also selling the items double
the price mentioned to the people.
