After the
steep rise of Corona positive cases in Vadodara the district administration
plans a proactive strategy to tame the virus before its attack. The city is
divided into four zones under important strategies of zoning, screening and
sampling. The zones are keep as dynamic as some areas might changes to other
zones after daily assessment by the teams.
Vadodara
witness around 42 cases in two days after mass sampling collection in Nagarwada
area which falls into critical red zone. To contain the virus the district
administration put Nagarwada and Tandalja areas into red zone and after the
rise in positive cases took the decision to divide the city in four zones as a
proactive step to fight COVID 19.
Gujarat
government OSD Dr. Vinod Rao and Municipal Commissioner gives details about the
proactive planning to save the people from getting infected with the virus.
“We
plan the proactive strategy with an aim to tame the Corona before it strikes.
We divide the city in four zones and identifies the areas and includes them in
particular zones. Nagarwada and Tandalja are already in red zone and 100%
Surveillance is completed in the areas by the health teams which includes
collection of samples. Bawanchawl, Mogalwada, Yakutpura, Bahar Colony, Dudhwala
Mohalla, some areas of Navapura, Meman Colony, Tandalja village and Kali
Talawadi areas included in Orange zone which also called as suspected zone. The
Yellow zone or protected zone includes Fatepura, Kishenwadi, Ektanagar, Ramdev
Nagar, Soma Talav, Adarsh Nagar (Tarsali), Anupam Nagar (Zavernagar),
Ghagretia, Kumbherwada (Lalbaug), Navayard D Cabin areas. The other areas
included in green zone or self surveillance areas,” said Dr. Rao.
Rao said the
division is dynamic as areas might be goes to other zones based on daily
assessment by the teams. The strategy is zoning, screening and sampling to
fight the Corona crisis. The teams will be strategically deployed in the areas
and third party will be done for the safety protocol. A task force is formed of
Specialist private doctors, epidemiologist for guidance and help. Sub group is
formed for the frontline staff to look after about their safety and training
during the work.
As far as
samples is concerned 40% is for red zone, 20% each for Orange and Yellow zones
and remaining will be done in the Green Zone. Dr. Rao said daily surveillance
will be done in the areas and assessment reports will be send to City Command
Center which now operates as COVID 19 war centre. The officials will monitor
the whole city through CCTV cameras from the centre.
