The condition of artists is not good amidst Corona pandemic as they don’t have any work for months after the lockdown was imposed. In Unlock 5, auspicious and inauspicious occasions are allowed on condition that they follow the guidelines of Covid-19.

However the artists who were inseparable part of such occasions are not allowed any relaxations by the government which make them raise their protest.

On Wednesday the artists from Vadodara staged a protest at Gadhinagar Gruh and demand from the government to allow artists in auspicious and inauspicious occasions.

Sound system operator Bhaveshbhai Patel said, the lockdown was imposed to control the Corona pandemic. Meanwhile, a phased lockdown is being opened by the government where most small and large businesses are allowed in Unlock 5.

Auspicious and inauspicious occasions like marriage-death are allowed up to a limit of 200 persons, but playing music system on occasions is prohibited. They are not free from this double standard of the government and are forced to take the path of agitation.

Vatsala Patil, a well-known singer and RSP leader, said that the condition of singers and musicians has become dire in the Corona era. The question is, if 200 persons are allowed in wedding occasions then why not artists. The question was whether Corona would spread if the artists would be allowed. They demand that if the government allows auspicious and inauspicious occasions, other artists, including singers and musicians, should also be allowed.

More than 200 artists gathered at Gadhinagar Gruh demanding permission to do business. They staged demonstrations chanting slogans and request government to fulfill their demands.
