Two GPCB Class One officers caught with diwali gifts along with cash and jewellery

After the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) raid in the office of GPCB in Vadodara the two class one officers initially cried after they were caught red handed with the cash and jewellery inside their office on Wednesday evening.

Both of officers were caught by the ACB inside their office with cash, jewellery and others. The ACB register a Non Cognizable (NC) against the officers and released them late in the night. Further investigation will happen after registering the FIR against them.

Vadodara Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught two GPCB Class One officers with diwali gifts along with cash and jewellery on Wednesday late evening. The cops raided the GPCB office at Geri Compound Ellora Park area in Vadodara city and caught the officers with gold, silver and cash from their office.

"In view to stop such malpractice during the festival of Diwali our head office issued a notification to get hold of such corrupt officers. Acting on that our one team headed by me went to the GPCB office at Geri Compound Ellora Park and caught the officers of class one rank with cash and jewellery in their possession. From C.A. Shah regional officer of class one rank we recovered silver coins, bars and cash worth total 79,695 rupees. From Manoj Patel the Vigilance officer we recovered silver, gold jewellery along with 2,45,000 cash kept in 9 different covers," said P.R. Gehlot Assistant Director ACB Vadodara.

Both the officers are in top post and are in responsibility positions. C.R. Shah the regional officer has Vadodara and Chhota Udepur districts under him and Manoj Patel has total seven districts under him. "Both the officers are class one officers and their job profile carries lots of responsibility. Both of them sitting on such a responsible posts misuse and abuse their power. This is for the first time we caught such high level officers in the GPCB," said Gehlot.

After the trap both the officers were brought to the ACB office in Narmada Bhavan Vadodara and after questioning and register a NC against them, both were released. On Wednesday another two teams from the ACB conducted search at Sales Tax department in Kuber Bhavan and Sub Registrar office.

After the raid by ACB on Wednesday the government offices wears a deserted look on Tuesday.
