Human error comes out as reason Inquiry ordered by DRM
A major tragedy was averted at Vadodara railway station after the two coaches of empty Rake of Train No.59831 Vadodara-kota parcel passenger train was derailed from the tracks during shunting at Vadodara station on PF 5 at 2.44 hrs.
Human error was found to be the reason behind the incident as the train went to the wrong track during the shunting on Platform no. 5. An inquiry was ordered by the DRM in the incident and the train was remained cancelled o. 5.02.2019.
As per details the Vadodara Kota parcel passenger train was about to leave from Vadodara on 7am and before that it was taken for shunting. However the last two coaches went to the different track and the last two bogies derailed. The emergency hooter was blown immediately and all the top officials including DRM Devendra Kumar reached the spot to review the rescue operation.
“The train was taken for shunting from platform no. 5 when the last two coaches of Vadodara Kota parcel train derailed after went to the other track. A human error was coming out as the reason as the track changing was not done in time. The rescue operation was underway immediately and all the trains coming from Mumbai allow to pass from the adjacent track with 10 to 15 minutes delay,” said Khemraj Meena railway PRO Vadodara.
All top officials along with DRM Devendra Kumar reached the spot to review the rescue operations. The two coaches of the train was put back on track at around 6 am by the team. A top level inquiry is initiated in the matter.
“Both the coaches are rerailed in the morning and the train will remain cancelled on 05.02.2019 due to derailment of two coches of paring empty rake while shunting. No train movement was affected on the line as the trains were allowed from the next lines. A Joint enquiry is ordered in connection of derailment of empty coach at BRCP.
Enquiry committee member ADEN (N) BRC, ADME KRCA, Station Director BRC, ADSTE BRC immediately,” said Meena.
