Online hackers this time attacked the personal website of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Twitter account and mobile app was hacked early morning on Thursday which shocked everyone as PM Modi is quite active in the social media platform and has million of followers all across the world.

Thursday morning the news buffs shocked to read the news about yet another hacking of a social media account of a high profile personality. This time popular leader Prime Minister Narendra Modi was targeted by the hackers as his personal website has been hacked. The Twitter account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s personal website and mobile app was hacked early this morning, the social media giant has confirmed. This is the latest high-profile security breach after similar attacks in July

A series of tweets were sent from the account reportedly asking followers to donate cryptocurrency to a relief fund. Twitter said to be aware of the activity and had taken steps to secure the compromised account.

The account goes by the handle narendramodi_in and has 2.5 million followers and over 37,000 tweets since it was created in May 2011.

The last tweet from the account was on August 31 was about a quote of PM Modi from his monthly radio programme “Mann Ki Baat”. Regular updates from the Prime Minister’s speeches and other programmes are tweeted from @narendramodi_in.

His personal Twitter account, which was unaffected by this incident, has more than 61m followers.
