TTAB and UTT jointly organizing ‘UTT 65th National School Games Table Tennis Championships 2019’ in Vadodara

Around 961 players from 38 states and contingents will take
part in the tournament

For the
third time in a row Table Tennis Association of Baroda (TTAB) and Ultimate
Table Tennis (UTT) are jointly organizing ‘UTT 65th National School Games Table
Tennis Championships 2019’ in the city. Around 961 players from 38 states and
contingents will take part in the tournament organise from 5th to 9th January
2020 at Sama Indoor sports stadium under the aegis of School Games Federation
of India (SGFl).

The event is
supported by the Sports Authority of Gujarat (SAG), Gujarat State Table Tennis
Association (GSTTA) & Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan (VMSS).

This
Championship is sponsored by IOCL, ONGC, GAIL and GACL.

The original
ideology of the SGFl behind to entrust such event to private organization in
collaboration with a district association is to uplift the standard of the
event under the Public Private Partnership “PPP” model and provide the improved
infrastructure facilities which comprised accommodation, food, playing arena,
international standard lighting, tables, transportation and technical support.

The Ultimate
Table Tennis (UTT) is a joint partner of TTAB for organizing the event to
promote the sport especially from the grassroots level in the country through
organizing various competitions for school paddlers with the broad vision to
nourish the talent and prepare them for international competitions.

This
Championship includes total 12 events which includes six (06) Team
Championships & six (06) Individual events (Singles) for Boys & Girls
Under-l4, 17 & 19 categories. Total 38 States / contingents have made
online registration for participating with 961 players and 200 officials in
this Championship.

The
Championship will be played in two stages where in the first stage all teams
shall be drawn into eight groups with 3 or 4 0r 5 teams in each group as per
the last National position and group teams will play one another in a Round
Robin League System to determine the position in each group. In STAGE-II, the
winner team of each group shall play on knock out system to determine the medal
positions.

In
Individual Singles, All matches will be played on knockout basis in all events.
All matches of qualifying rounds and individual events (Main Draws) will be
played a match of best of five games of 11 points.

Championships
will be played on eighteen “KTR METCO” tables placed on the synthetic floor
with Special LED lightings arranged for this Championship. The TTFI approved
balls “GKI Supreme” will be used in this Championship.

All winners
having 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions will be awarded cash prizes along with
individual medal, trophies, rolling trophies and merit certificates.

Mangesh
Mopkar (International Referee / Blue Badge Umpire) will act as a Referee in
this Championship and under his leadership other 2 Deputy Referees, 2 Assistant
Referees and 36 Umpires will extend their expertise for the tournament.
