In a major decision the cabinet approves transfer of 4.64 hectares of land belonging to Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation (IISWC) Research Centre at Vasad, Gujarat to National Highways Authority of India.

The transfer of the land is for the construction and extension of six laining of Vadodara Ahmedabad section of National Highway 8.

After the approval it is said that the extension of Vadodara Ahmedabad section will benefit the region in terms of opportunities. The development will be in sectors like infrastructure, communication, transport and also helps in job creation.

Many feels that the decision will benefit the government in a broader sense as the approval leads to boost infrastructure and speed up the growth.

The transfer to be made on payment of Rs. 12.67 crore compensation for extension and six Ianing of Ahmedabad Vadodara Highway on NH-8.
