UGC-Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), Gujarat University, Ahmedabad organized Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) sponsored by National Faculty Improvement Programme (NFIP) on National Immersion, Exposure & Excellence in Higher Education for Academicians.The programme during 04-Feb-2019 to 10-Feb-2019 for the academicians of Gujarat was to acquaint them with the best academic practices and innovative academic programs carried out in the reputed universities across India.

HRDC invited applications from the academicians of universities/colleges across Gujarat and approximately 346 academicians applied for this program. The NFIP was planned in two phases where in the first phase consisted of 30 academicians and the second phase consisted of 52 academicians of various colleges/universities. It's a matter of pride that under the guidance of Prof. Hitesh Raviya, newly appointed head of the English Department of MSU, G. Venkateswarlu and Rajesh Bharvad of Department of English, Faculty of Arts, and Parth Dave, Department of English, Faculty of Commerce of The M. S. University of Baroda, Vadodara applied for the program and were selected for the second phase.

The program consisted of the visits to several reputed universities, Institutes, and Centers such as Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, Delhi University, Delhi, National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, Delhi, Doon University, Dehradun, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, Ashoka University, Haryana, and O.P. Jindal Global University, Haryana.

The academicians also met eminent personalities such as Mansukh L. Mandaviya, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping, Chemical & Fertilizers, and Dr. Kirit Solanki, Member of Parliament and discussed contemporary problems of education and the relevance of Gandhian Thought in Educational Policies.

The participants learnt various innovative practices carried out by reputed universities, Institutes, and Centers. They also met renowned academicians and learned about the modern trends in education and solutions to the key problems of education. Interaction with eminent academicians helped them understand the future course of education needed for the growth of any organization. Such learning will prove to be beneficial as they will utilize their learning in academic practices at The M. S. University of Baroda, Vadodara.
