All-rounder Hardik Pandya from Vadodara is on cloud nine after named in the Indian squad for the first two Tests against England at home. Pandya said ConnectGujarat that the news is surprising and he is really happy to be selected in the test team as it’s every player’s dream to be selected in the test side.
On Wednesday the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the 15-member squad in Mumbai for the Test series at home against England. Hardik Pandya who has been on a roller coaster ride make his entry to the test side and now looking for the test series against England.
“Its the happiest moment of my career after selected in the Indian test team. Playing for the test team is amazing and it’s always every player’s dream to get selected in the test when he started his career in cricket. Its a proud moment for me as my dream comes true with the selection,” said a jubilant Pandya.
After in and out from the team Pandya everytime proved his mettle with his performance and now he is selected in the test squad for the first two tests. “Its definitely a new year gift for me after getting selected in the test team. 2016 is a roller coaster ride for me as from started with T20 world cup was dropped then making a comeback and get the man of the match on my debut. My performance was good in the last ODI’s and now I am selected in the test team. Its really a nice feeling,” expressed Pandya to the ConnectGujarat representative.
Pandya said that after getting selected he is now concentrating on his performance. “My recent consistent performance and the improvement in my game is the key point I think it will help me to get selected and I will continue to give my best shot. I always believe in hard work and will continue the same,” said Pandya.
Finally on his playing style he said he see himself as a all-rounder in the team. “I see myself as a all-rounder in the team and working on the equal performance in my batting, bowling and fielding. As now I get selected in the test team, my focus is on to perform at the all three formats of the game and retain my place in the team,” said Pandya.
