Three plays represent different genres of theatre to the audience

For the first time in history Vadodara will witness three well known theatre companies coming together for a three day theatre fest “Theatre Trio Treat”. The 3 plays represent different genres of theatre, offering the audience a novel experience each night.

Three wellknown Theatre Companies of Vadodara and Mumbai come together, to perform 3 brilliant plays on 3 nights of 1-2-3 March, at CC Mehta Auditorium. Every play is based on different subjects and will take the theatre lovers to a experience never before.

On 1st March Vadodara based Page to Stage will showcase its acclaimed “Macbeth”, a contemporary adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic. The bi-Iingual play (in English & Hindi) is set on a University campus, proving the relevance of the Bard’s work in modern times.

On 2nd March another Vadodara-based Geet Theatre will premiere “Bas Itna Sa Khwaab”, based on an original Marathi story “Dhyanimani”, which is a family psychological thriller. This Hindi play portrays the drama within the four walls of a dysfunctional family.

Finally on 3rd March the Mumbai-based Shamiana showcases its acclaimed “Strangers in the Night”, a Broadway-styled romantic musical, based on the iconic songs of Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Doris Day. This English musical showcases an era where music and dance propelled the story written and directed by Shreyas Porus Pardiwala, and produced by Cyrus F. Dastur, with a cast drawn from Mumbai’s theatre professionals.

“The main aim to organise such a fest is to give a new push the theatre and revive the culture. In today’s scenario the theatre takes a back seat but now the the times are changing and the trio treat is a step towards it. The three plays with different types of stories are socially relevant and appeal to the crowd of every age group,” said Suchitra Parikh from Page to Stage.

The 3 Theatre Companies Page to Stage, Geet Theatre and Shamiana are committed to sharing their knowledge and resources, with a view to offer better services and high-quality theatre to the discerning audiences in Vadodara and Mumbai, and around the country. After performing in Vadodara, Page to Stage, Geet Theatre and Shamiana will perform in other cities of India.
