Keynote address on "Air Pollution and Climate Change due to Urbanization" will be delivered by Padma Shri - Shri Kartikeya Sarabhai.

The Institution of Engineers Vadodara and Society For Clean Environment have organised a seminar on 'Air Pollution' this World Environment Day. The Keynote address on "Air Pollution and Climate Change due to Urbanization" will be delivered by Padma Shri Shri Kartikeya Sarabhai.

The UN theme for World Environment Day 2019 is "Air Pollution" and urge governments, industry, communities and individuals to come together to explore renewable energy and green technologies and also work towards improve air quality in Cities and regions across the world. 92 per cent of people worldwide do not breathe clean air and it costs the global economy every year in welfare costs and Ground-Ievel ozone pollution is expected to reduce staple crop yields. People can't stop breathing but efforts can be there about the quality of air we breathe.

With this background the Seminar on “Air Pollution” will be held on 6th June 2019 at Vadodara where in Rajmata Shubhanginiraje Gaekwad will deliver the Welcome Address.

Keynote address on "Air Pollution and Climate Change due to Urbanization" will be delivered by Padma Shri Shri Kartikeya Sarabhai, Recipient of 2016 International Brandwein Medal by Brandwein Institute and the IUCN-CEC, Co-chair of the Earth Charter International Council and the chair-holder of the UNESCO Chair on Education for Sustainable Development and the Human Habitat.

Mukesh Shah, Joint Secretary, Climate Change, Regional Officer GPCB and N.P. Singh Brar President of Institute of Engineers will participate in the Panel Discussion after the lecture. The members of the Institute of Engineers (Vadodara Chapter), SOCLEEN invitees, Engineering and Environment Science students will participate in the Seminar.
