Meta’s WhatsApp continues to gain new features, and the company will soon introduce a favourite tab, which makes it easy to find and text your favourite contacts.
WhatsApp is currently testing a favourite tab feature for both iOS and web users, allowing users to pin specific contacts for quick access among the hundreds of contacts one might have on WhatsApp.
First reported by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp web will soon get an updated UI, allowing users to quickly switch between all chats, unread chats, and favourite chats.
Currently, WhatsApp allows users to pin up to three contacts on the home page, appearing on top of all the other contacts.
With the upcoming feature, users will have a separate window for all their favourite contacts in one place.
As of now, there is no information on whether there will be a limit on how many contacts can be added to the favourite tab.
Currently, it is also unclear how WhatsApp will implement this feature on smartphones, as it requires more screen real estate for all the tabs in one place.
Furthermore, there is no confirmation of when this feature will be available for non-beta users.
