Snapchat is rolling out a new feature called “Footsteps” that tracks your location history and shows the places you have explored or travelled to on Snap Map.
According to sources, the company confirmed that Footsteps, which was previously limited to Snapchat+ subscribers will soon be available for all iPhone users.
When you use Footsteps for the first time, your steps will be based on the Snaps stored in your Memories, meaning all your past trips will be counted as well.
However, Snapchat won’t be using your memories after that but instead resort to your location data.
Snapchat’s Footsteps feature will not only show the countries you have travelled to but also log how much of an area you have travelled.
The company says these percentages are based on where you took Snaps, which means they will only be accurate if you use the app extensively.
