US-based Motorola Solutions will set up the first research and innovation center in Gujarat at Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) at Changa, Gujarat. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between CHARUSAT and Motorola to set up the center at campus.
A high-level delegation of Gora Kundu - Senior Director, Hardik Kothari - Senior Manager, Handset, R & D, Vasanth Rao - Senior Manager Finance, Pavan Malladi- Manager - Business Analytics & Reporting led by Kris (Kishan) Patel, Corporate Vice President, Unified Communications, Motorola Solutions, Texas USA, visited CHARUSAT. Kris Patel was the director of KODIAK (Motorola Solutions Company) which is now part of Motorola. It is worth noting here that NRG Kris Patel is a native of Charotar and he envisioned the center at university with focus on socially relevant research and innovation. The center has been modeled on a center of University of Illinois, USA.
The collaboration will be beneficial to the future generations as it aims at offering practical opportunities of learning including internships to students of the University at Motorola Solutions Innovation Centre which will be set up within the University Campus. Motorola will recruit students into its own company and will provide its expertise, specialists, cloud data center-software and a variety of facilities. While CHARUSAT will provide infrastructure, network, hardware, skilled students & teachers.
CHARUSAT-Motorola Solutions Research and Innovation Center will have a capacity of 50 to 55 persons, 3 conference rooms with state-of-the-art facilities, specialized mobile desk with research and development which will be useful to CHARUSAT, Motorola and future generations.
