The Indian government successfully test-fired the Agni Prime missile off the coast of Odisha at Balasore on Saturday, December 18, 2021. The Agni-P is a next-generation improved derivative of the Agni missile series. It's a canisterized missile with a range of 1,000 to 2,000 kilometres.

In other news, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Ganga Expressway today at 1 p.m. in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, will also travel to Maharashtra for a two-day visit to attend different public events, including the co-operative council conference and the inauguration of the new Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) campus building.
