Huawei is Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL)'s biggest smartphone rival in China, alongside Samsung Electronics (KS:005930).

The price cut, which went up to 3,000 yuan ($411), was announced through a post on Huawei's official Weibo (NASDAQ:WB) social media account on Sunday.

The discounts were part of a "Super Brand Day" promotion on JD (NASDAQ:JD).com, which began on Saturday evening and ended at midnight on Sunday.
