Elon Musk: Apple threatens to withhold Twitter from its App store
New Update

Elon Musk in his latest tweet claimed that Apple has threatened to ban Twitter from its app store without providing any explanation.

He also claimed that iPhone manufacturer had ceased running advertisements on the social networking site.

In a series of tweets on Monday Musk accused Apple of hating free speech. According to reports, Apple was pressuring Twitter over content censorship demands.

He also tweeted that "This is a battle for the future of civilization. If free speech is lost even in America, tyranny is all that lies ahead."

The action would not be unusual as the company has routinely enforced its rules and previously removed apps such as Gab and Parler, reported sources.

Parler, which is popular with U.S. conservatives, was restored by Apple in 2021 after the app updated its content and moderation practices, the companies said at the time, reported Reuters.

According to reports, Apple was the top advertiser on Twitter in the first quarter of 2022.

Several Twitter accounts including that of former U.S. President Donald Trump's twitter account was reinstated by Musk after taking charge of Twitter.
