Wearing helmet for your safety is not a slogan but a necessity which can reduce the impact on head in the time of accident. One such incident came to light in Vadodara where a delivery boy of online food portal lost his life in a road accident. He was not wearing helmet at the time of incident and is on the way to deliver food.

As per available details a 22 year old boy Afzal Mukhtiyarahmed Shaikh worked as delivery boy of Swiggy and was on the way to deliver food. Around 11 pm he met with accident at Gorwa Canal Panchvati and died after receiving grevious injuries on his head. He was not wearing helmet at the time of the accident and could have been saved if wearing it.

As per sources the guidelines for Swiggy don’t have the strict helmet wearing policy for their employees which might save the life of Afzal Shaikh. Secondly to deliver the food hot and quick the boys jumped signals and violate speed limits on city roads which also prove dangerous for them and others.

This is first such incident of fatal injury of employees of online food portals and now the administration can seriously thinks about making helmet compulsory for the staff and specially delivery boys.
