Left for Statue of Unity from Air Force Station Vadodara
To commemorate 87th Air Force day on 08 Oct 19 and to spread the message ‘Fit India Movement’ launched by the Prime Minister, a cycling expedition was flagged off from HQ SWAC, Gandhinagar to Statue of Unity. The team left for Statue of Unity from Air Force Station Vadodara early morning on Tuesday. The day also mark the celebration of 87th Air Force day all across India.
The team was flagged-off in the early morning hours of 07 Oct 19 from HQ SWAC, Gandhinagar and will reach Statue of Unity on 08 Oct 2019. The contingent comprises of nearly 55 personnel from various air bases within its Command. The team lead by Air Marshal BR Krishna Senior Air Staff Officer, HQ SWAC includes air warriors, women officers and family members of different age groups from 25 to 57 years.
IAF has been promoting adventure activities for its personnel at various levels and has achieved various feats at National and international Levels. Through adventure activities, IAF attempts to showcase and instil the qualities of camaraderie, team spirit and courage which are the very foundation of a fighting force.
“We want to celebrate the 87th Air Force day and cycling towards Statue of Unity to reach on 8th October on the Air Force day. We air warriors from all the air commands within SWAC cycling towards the famous spot covering around 250 kilometers to celebrate Fit India Movement and spread the message to others and also within about being healthy,” said Air Marshal Krishna after reached their first stoppage at Air Force Station Vadodara.
Early morning on Tuesday the team cycling towards Statue of Unity to be flagged in by the AOC in C SWAC after reaching there. With great enthusiasm the members left the Vadodara Air Force Station before the sunset to reach their venue.
