Students demand the collector not to demolish their homes and studies

School students mostly girls pursuing their board exams came to Collector office in Vadodara on Saturday to gave a memorandum to save their homes and education. The students are from Ekta Nagar at Ajwa road feared their education will suffer as the VMSS served a notice to demolish their houses under PM Awas Yojna.

The school students residing their at Ekta nagar gave a memorandum to the collector and requesting to save their homes being demolished by the Corporation on 7th November. The students said their studies will affected due to demolition and they want to stay at the very same place.

"I born at the same place and now after 16 years I fear my sweet home will demolish due to the PM Awas Yojna. The demolition will affect my studies as I am in 12th standard and in couple of months will give my board exams. The demolition will change everyone lives there as people set up their business there and now how can they set up at any new place. The change is acceptable but we want that the government should gave the new homes at the same place," said Ishrat Khan student living in the same area.

The residents said that they are living here for many years and rehabilitate here from different places in Vadodara city. "I am living here for the last 30 years and now once again the government tried to shift us from here. The residents living here are in fear that their houses will demolished now and once again they are homeless," said Nazma Pathan a resident of Ekta Nagar.

The students and residents of Ekta nagar demand not to demolish their homes there. If the government not listened to them they will aggressively agitate against them.
