At Vadnagar railway station in Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi used to sell tea in his childhood. Now the railway station to get eight crore rupees to renovate.

Central Minister Manoj Sinha gave this information on Friday. Minister of State for Railways told reporters, “Eight crore rupees have been declared for development of Vadnagar railway station in Mesana district.” The Minister of State for Railways had come to sachana village to inaugurate the Inland Container Depot (ICD).

During the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Modi often used to say that in his childhood, he used to sell tea with his father at the Vadnagar railway station. Modi was born in this town.

Regarding the project, Ahmedabad Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Dinesh Kumar explained in detail. He said that the development of places of Vadnagar and adjoining areas in Mehsana district would cost more than Rs. 100 crores. Vadnagar, Modhera and Patan are the tourist sites. Ministry of Tourism has given eight crore rupees to the tourism department of the state for development of railway station.
