India’s men’s doubles pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy will take on Korea’s Ming Che Lu and Tang Kai Wei in the semi-finals of the Thailand Open badminton tournament in Bangkok today, May 18.

Shetty and Rankireddy advanced to the semi-finals, defeating Malaysia’s Junaidi Arif and Roy King Yap 21-7, 21-14 in the quarterfinals contest.

Women’s doubles pair Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto will play against Thailand’s Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai in the semi-finals today.

Ashwini and Tanisha made it through to the women’s doubles semi-final after a tense match against South Korea’s Lee Yu Lim and Shin Seung Chan.

In the Men’s Singles quarter-finals, Meiraba Luwang Maisnam’s impressive run at the tournament came to an end in a 12-21, 5-21 loss to world No 8 Kunlavut Vitidsarn.

The Thailand Open 2024 badminton tournament will end tomorrow.
