India's Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy have entered the second round of the Japan Open badminton Tournament in Tokyo.
While Srikanth prevailed over Taiwan's Chou Tien-chen 21-13, 21-13 in the first round match, Prannoy defeated World No. 5 Li Shifeng of China 21-17, 21-13.
India's top women's duo of Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly also entered the second round defeating locals Yui Suizu and Sayaka Hobara 11-21, 21-15, 21-14.
However, in Women's Singles, Aakarshi Kashyap lost her match to Japan's Akane Yamaguchi 17-21, 17-21. The mixed doubles pair of Sikki Reddy and Rohan Kapoor also bowed out in the first round.
Today the Indian ace PV Sindhu will be aiming to regain her form when she plays her first round match, while the red-hot men's doubles duo of Satwiksairaj and Chirag, will aim to carry forward their momentum. The men's singles event will see Lakshya Sen, Mithun Manjunath Priyanshu Rajawat in action today.
