Put in to bat first, Lucknow posted 169 for seven wickets in 20 overs riding on skipper KL Rahul's 68 off 50 balls and Deepak Hooda's 51 off 33. For Hyderabad, Washington Sundar, Romario Shepherd, and T. Natarajan scalped two wickets apiece.
Chasing the target, Hyderabad were restricted to 157 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated overs. Rahul Tripathi top-scored with 44 off 30 balls. For Lucknow, Avesh Khan finished with four wickets while Jason Holder took three wickets.
Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to field first.
