Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina's father passed away after a long fight battle with cancer
Trilokchand Raina, the father of former India all-rounder Suresh Raina, died on Sunday after a long-fought battle against cancer.
Trilokchand, a military officer who had mastery of making bombs in an ordnance factory, died in his Ghaziabad residence.
Raina's father's ancestral village is 'Rainawari' in Jammu and Kashmir. After the killings of Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s, his father left the village. The family settled in Muradnagar town. Suresh's father earned 10,000 rupees salary and couldn't afford the expensive cricket coaching fees.
In 1998, Raina got admitted into the Guru Gobind Singh Sports College in Lucknow. Raina stated that he remains constantly careful not to say anything that may remind his father about the Kashmir tragedy.
