India's R Praggnanandhaa will face World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen of Norway in a tie-breaker set of the Chess World Cup final today.
This comes after the second game between Indian grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa and Norwegian Magnus Carlsen ended in a draw yesterday at Baku, Azerbaijan.
Carlsen drew the first game of classical chess after 35 moves with the Indian prodigy yesterday.
In the tiebreaker games, there will be shorter time control games to decide the winner.
Two tie-break games will be played in the rapid format with time control of 25 minutes for each player.
If the winner is still undecided, the players will play two more games with a time control of 10 minutes.
If that also does not provide a winner, there will be two more games with time control of 5 minutes.
If the two players are still tied, the blitz portion of the tiebreak will start. This format shall be repeated until there’s a winner.
