SOG busted a IPL T20 cricket betting racket

Vadodara SOG team on Friday arrested one history sheeter for cricket betting on the live match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai. The accused was betting live on the match and when the police raid the accused was betting with the customers on mobile.

As per the details the SOG team received a tip about one Sahid alias Sajid Bakery resident of Panigate slum quarters and runs the cricket betting on the ongoing T20 tournament.

Acting on the information the team raid on the house of Sajid Bakery and found that the accused is betting on the live match between RCB and Mumbai Indians. The accused was using a live line software and bet on the runs through mobile phones and also note down the names of the customers.

During the raid the SOG recovered 27,200 cash, mobiles, LCD TV, Set top box, speaker and two registers having names of the customers written in codes. During interrogation the police came to know that Sajid Bakery is giving the cut to Kamil Sheikh resident of Karelibaug area.

After the raid police arrested Sajid Bakery and registers case against Bookie Kamil Sheikh and customers S.K. Sharif, Nasir, Bilal and Anil and handover the accused to Panigate police station for further investigation. Sajid was earlier arrested I'm 2000 for rioting and in 2004 for murder, 2007 for loot and two cases of betting in 2017. He was also sent for two time PASA in the past.
