Simple Ganpati visarjan in Vadodara amidst Coronavirus

Amidst Coronavirus pandemic, Vadodara celebrate the Ganeshotsav festival with great enthusiasm. This year people welcome Ganesha at their homes and after 10 days bid farewell to the Lord on Anant chaturdashi.

On Tuesday devotees immersed the idols of Ganesha inside their homes with heavy hearts and a prayer to come again next year to shower his blessings on them.

With chants of Ganapati Bappa Morya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya, devotees, various Ganesha Mandals of the city bids farewell to the Lord Ganesha and pray for everyone’s well-being in this difficult time.

With Covid 19 guidelines in place people immerse the idols in a simple manner inside their homes and societies in a eco friendly manner. With heavy hearts people pray the Lord to come back again next year and shower blessings on everyone.

Every year corporation prepare artificial lakes for the eco friendly visarjan of Ganesha idols, but this year due to Coronavirus every such celebration is banned and people immerse the idols at their homes and societies.

Strict police bandobast is also kept by the administration to stop public celebrations and not allowing the immersion inside lakes and other water bodies.

Organiser Tarang Shah and others said, this year the budget for the festival was used in education and Corona related work.

They conduct 181 Corona test during the 10 days festival and distributed 1 lakh masks and 10,000 sanitisers during the celebrations. They also deposit 41,000 fees of poor schools students and also extends help in other social works.

Others also immersed the Ganpati idols in a simple manner at their homes and societies amidst Coronavirus. Big mandals will started immersion process during evening time.
