Shiv Bhakt and story teller Giri Bapu will recite the Shiv Katha to devotees during the Diwali festivities

Shiv Bhakt and story teller Giri Bapu will recite the Shiv Katha to the devotees of Vadodara during the Diwali festivities. The Katha is in the memory of late Dhulabhai Motibhai Patel and will be organise for the first time in the city.

On 30th a pothi yatra will be taken out from the house of Suresh Patel son of Dhulabhai and reach the katha place where saints from various temples will welcome the yatra. Later with auspicious lighting of the lamp the Katha will be start at the place near the Motnath Mahadev temple.

The katha will continue till 4th November where Satipragatya chapter will be on 2nd followed by Shiv Vivah on 3rd November. "My father was ardent Shiva devotee and everyday went to Motnath Mahadev temple till he lived. In auspicious Shravan month he moves inside the home bare foot and walk to the temple without wearing any footwear to worship lord Shiva," said Suresh Patel.

Talking about the highlights, the Katha place is spreading in 1 lakh square foot area with 25,000 sitting arrangement. Ample parking facility with chappal ghar for the devotees to enjoy the katha. 10 plus LED screens, CCTV less dome and full insurance is there at the place by the organisers for a smooth flow of operations.
