Like every year on the occasion of Dussehra Maharaja Samarjitsinh Gaekwad done ‘Shashtra Puja’ inside the Laxmi Vilas Palace with all the rituals. Similarly the city and district police done ‘Shashtra Puja’ inside the police headquarters and celebrate Dussehra.
Like every year on the occasion of Dussehra under the guidance of Rajguru Dhruvdutt Vyas Maharaja of Vadodara Samarjitsinh Gaekwad performed ‘Shashtra Puja’ inside the palace with Ved Mantras and rituals. The gold silver swords, and other Shashtras were worshipped by the Maharaja and celebrate the festival of Dussehra.
Maharaja Samarjitsinh Gaekwad extend his wishes to the Barodians and said that for years this ritual is performed inside the palace. Earlier on Dussehra there was a procession of the Shashtras which passed through the city but it was stopped and now we celebrate the puja inside the palace.
The police force also done ‘Shashtra Puja’inside the police headquarters in the presence of top police officials along with Police Commissioner of Vadodara Anupam Sinh Gahlaut. The police stations also performed ‘Shashtra Puja’ in the city.
In the evening effigies of Ravan, Kumbhkaran and Meghnath will put into fire at polo ground and a fire cracker show is also there at the venue. Similarly there are long ques of people to buy Fafda and Jalebi which considered to be auspicious in Dussehra.
