trended as top content, Patriotism seizes top moments for Gujrati language
users on ShareChat

India’s largest regional social media platform, has announced its 2019 UGC
Trendz report for Gujarat today. The report talks about the key UGC trends and
topics that are driving online conversations amongst its millions of Gujrati
language users in 2019.
‘Wishes’ has
topped the content genre with 17% users creating and posting such content this
year. “Romance’ and ‘Humour’ trended as #2 and #3, with 12% and 9% content
creation respectively. Men contributed 77% of the content creation, while
female contributed 23%. Overall, the platform has seen a 7:3 ratio for men and
women for time spent on the platform.
ShareChat
witnesses maximum shares both for men and women between 8 am and 10 am, while
UGC creation happens the most between 12 pm to 2 pm for men and 8 pm and 10 pm
for women. However, users spend their morning in sharing “Wishes” from
ShareChat, mostly between 6 am and 8 am.
As Per
ShareChat 2019 Trendz report, people spent over 15 million hours on the
platform to consume over 4 million user generated videos. Over 12 mn UGC were
created on ShareChat by its users which got more than 35 millions WhatsApp
shares this year. Everyday, more than 550 hours of videos gets uploaded on the
platform, with an average of 18 seconds video play.
This trend
is motivated by some exciting features and content on the platform that
includes background camera filters, stickers and audio filters helping the
users to create /consume some interesting content on their smartphones.
A thorough
analysis on hashtags trending from Gujarat reveals that people are quite
involved in mostly national interest
events. People were mostly seen active in engaging with events like Parliament
elections 2019, showed their angst during the Pulwama Attack, and also,
celebrated Chandrayan 2. The top 3

Commenting
on the Gujarat report, Sunil Kamath, Chief Business Officer, ShareChat said

generated content in native languages. The year also epitomized user-generated
content in regional Indian languages well and truly coming into its own, with
over 12 million posts in formats spanning images, videos, gifs according to
