Senior Congress leader in ACB trap
Vadodara Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) team caught senior Congress leader for accepting bribe of 1 lakh rupees from a farmer who requested for NA in the Zilla Panchayat office. The accused went there to accept the money on behalf of his son who asked him to collect the bribe amount. The ACB team caught both father son duo and further investigating. Satish is the husband of Chairman of Health Committee in Vadodara Zilla Panchayat.
Piyush Patel from Pachiyapura village from Karjan Vadodara gives a application in the Zilla Panchayat office for NA of his field for sand storage. To get the NA for his land the accused Abhishek Upadhyay approached him and asked for 1 lakh 50,000 rupees bribe which later fixed for 1 lakh.
The complainant then approached the ACB in person on 25th April 2017 with the audio video recorder and gave his complaint. The team then planned the trap and at the scheduled spot Satish Upadhyay came to the spot in a Swift car to collect the money on the behalf of his son Abhishek upadhyay.
According to the ACB the accused Satish Upadhyay asked for the money in the presence of panch and the ACb team caught him red handed from the spot. The team then waited for the son and caught him also along with the father.
The ACB team took custody of both the accused and further investigating.
