Security Forces eliminate four terrorists in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, four terrorists were killed in an encounter that broke out between terrorists and security forces at Manihal area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district in the wee hours today.

According to Defence sources, a joint team of security forces launched a cardon and search operation (CASO) in Manihal following the intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the village.

As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, the terrorists fired upon them and in retaliation, four terrorists were gunned down. The identity of the slain terrorists is however, being ascertained. Arms and ammunition have also been recovered from their possession. Meanwhile, the joint operation was going on when the reports last came in. Further details are awaited.
