    Coronavirus finally entered Gujarat as five positive cases are registered in four important cities. In Vadodara the administration is alert in view of the first positive case and Section 144 is imposed immediately to control the situation.

    District Collector Shalini Agrawal in a press conference informed about the one positive case from Vadodara and as a precautionary measure put a ban on gathering of four people at one place. Shopping malls, gardens, cinema halls and other public places where people gathering is more is closed till further notice.

    The VMSS health department teams started sanitisation process of the societies in Makarpura area where the youth detected as positive lives. In addition pan masala and tobbaco is banned for selling from the provision stores and strict action will be taken if anyone found to be selling the same.

    District collector further requested people not to go outside unnecessarily and wash hands frequently to maintain hygiene. Keep distance with people having cough and cold and ban the gathering of four people at one place. Strict action will be taken against people violate the notifications.

    The Corona positive patient is under treatment in SSG hospital as per decided protocol and district collector request people not to panic and take preventive measures to fight the virus.

    She also said to stay away from rumors spreading in social media and other mediums and warn such persons for strict action. Till 14 samples were collected in Vadodara where one comes as positive and rest 13 are negative.

    District collector Shalini Agrawal said that the resident of Makarpura recently returned from Spain and he is under treatment as per standard protocol inside the SSG after his reports comes as positive.

    Vadodara gets the list of 263 people from the state health department about fresh history of foreign tours and out of them 100 people completed their quarantine and rest 163 are under observation. The Corona positive patient was also under treatment in the isolation ward of the SSG hospital.

    District collector further informed that as a precautionary step a notification to implement Section 144 in the city and district putting a ban on any type of functions, meetings, rallies and others. Strict action will be taken of any violation. Malls, multiplexes, gyms, cinema halls, clubs, theatres, dance classes, tution classes, sports complexes are closed as preventive measures and police commissioner is also implementing the laws in the city jurisdiction.

    Jan Seva kendras are closed in view of the gathering of people and people are requested to use online services as option. People came in contact with the Corona positive patient is shifted to Isolation and as preventive measures the rail and bus services operating from Maharashtra is stopped and advisory is issued to ST department to take precautionary measures.

    COVID 19 is included in epidemic act and the collector request people to stay away from any rumors and issues warning of strict action against the elements spread wrong message in social media and other mediums.

    She request people to contact doctor in case of fever, cough and cold. Hotels, sweet and farsan shops are instructed to strictly follow the health advisory. She appeal people to stay at home specially kids and senior citizens above 60 years.
