Schools started 9th and 11th standard from Monday after government guidelines

Low attendance of students seen in Vadodara schools

After the commencement of Std-10 and 12 schools in the first phase 10 months after the Corona epidemic, 9th and 11th standard are allowed to open from Monday. However the the number of students in most of the schools in Vadodara was less due to the Corona epidemic.

Maharani Kanya Vidyalaya near Surasagar Lake in had 35 students against the number of 212 students in Std-9. Std-11 students have been called tomorrow. Apart from this, other schools in the city also witnessed a low attendance of Std-9 and 11 students.

Maharani Kanya Vidyalaya Principal Truptiben Shah said that the schools for Std-9 and 11 starting from today and students came in school uniform with the consent letter of parents.

They have called the students of Std-11 tomorrow. At present 40 to 45 students come in Std-10, while in Std-12, 5 to 10 students come in the class. According to the government’s guideline, students are sanitized at the entrance of the school, as well as in the classrooms. The arrangements have been there for the students to sit at a distance of 6 feet in the classroom.

Maharani Kanya Vidyalaya’s Std-9 student said that it is a great pleasure to come to school today after 10 months. She prefer to study in a physical classroom than online as they get solution of a query instantly. Now they are not afraid of Corona, though need to be careful.

Another student said that the school was closed for 10 months due to the Corona pandemic. However now that school has started they have come to today for the classes. It is a pleasure to come to school after such a long time. They are being very careful as the Corona pandemic is still there.

Pareshbhai Shah, principal of Jai Ambe Vidyalaya on VIP Road, said that not a single student of Std-9 and 11 came to their school today. The main reason is that students could not come as school vans and school auto rickshaws were closed.

The students could not come to the school as no guideline has been issued by the government regarding school vans and school rickshaws. There is still a fear of corona among parents and students.
